Etsy seller fees in 2026 (US)
These are the standard rates the calculator above uses. Etsy charges most US sellers three fees on every sale, plus a fourth only when an order comes from an Etsy-paid ad.
| Fee | Amount | What it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | $0.20 per listing | Charged when you publish a listing and again when it renews. A listing stays active for four months or until the item sells. |
| Transaction fee | 6.5% | The full amount you charge the buyer — item price, shipping, gift wrapping and personalization included. |
| Payment processing (US) | 3% + $0.25 | Each order paid through Etsy Payments. The rate differs by country, and some markets add a regulatory operating fee. |
| Offsite Ads | 15% or 12% | Only orders that come from an ad Etsy paid for. 15% if your shop made under $10,000 in the past 365 days; 12% once you pass it, where the fee also becomes mandatory. |

How Etsy fees are calculated
For a standard US order, this calculator adds the $0.20 listing fee, Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee, and the US Etsy Payments fee of 3% + $0.25. Turn on Offsite Ads when that fee applies, then add your own item and delivery costs to see net profit rather than revenue alone.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. Etsy's percentage-based transaction and payment processing fees apply to the shipping amount you charge the buyer as well as the item price. Enter both what the buyer pays for shipping and what shipping costs you to see the effect on your margin.
Compare buyer-paid and free shipping →Etsy postage calculator vs. shipping fee calculator
This tool calculates Etsy fees on a sale that includes shipping; it does not quote postage from USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another carrier. A postage quote also needs package weight, dimensions, origin, destination, and the shipping service you choose.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Etsy take per sale?
On a standard US sale Etsy charges a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, a payment processing fee of 3% + $0.25, and a $0.20 listing fee. This calculator adds those up so you can see your real take-home per order.
Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?
Yes. Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee applies to the total you charge the buyer, including shipping and gift wrap — which is why the calculator includes shipping in the fee base.
What is the Offsite Ads fee?
If a buyer finds your item through an Etsy-paid ad off-site and buys within 30 days, Etsy charges an advertising fee (12% or 15% depending on your sales volume). Toggle it on to include a 15% estimate.
Are these fees exact?
They're a close estimate using standard US rates. Payment processing rates differ by country and Etsy adds a small regulatory operating fee in some markets, so treat the result as a reliable guide rather than an invoice.
